So you do massage right??

Wintec Occupational Therapy 1st year Students, 2010

For my first post I thought I'd explain my understanding of an Occupational Therapist, since it was the reason for starting this blog.

Occupational Therapy (or OT) can take on many different forms which is one of the things I love about it, but our overall focus is occupation.  This isn't just about what job you do, although we do come in here as well.  Occupation is everything we do.  Me typing this blog is an occupation, as is you reading it.  Occupation is everything, from as simple as doing up a button to driving a car and going to work.
OT's come in when someone is unable to do there occupations for one reason or another.  We work with kids, adults and elderly.  We can work with stroke or M.S. patients, people with mental illnesses, multiple fracture patients and many other different people.

So we do allot, but no generally we don't do massage
