Pink Walk

Once a year Hamilton have a 'Pink Walk'.  It's a walk around our lake all dressed up in pink and all funds to go to the breast cancer foundation.  It a fun afternoon with people of all ages in all sorts of pink wear and it goes to a great cause.

Macaroon!

Today is the beautiful Michelle's Birthday so Kristel and I decided to make something for her.  After about 2 hours of looking through cook books and searching the internet we finally decided to make macaroons.  We also decided that it would be fun to make them COLOURFUL! Hope she likes coconut =)

Boating

Yesterday in class we went boat racing! We were given news paper, ice block sticks, straws and tape.  Then we created our boats! They were interesting to say the least and there was a lot of laughing going on as we made them and raced them.

This one was my teams boat (note the mermaid on the front)

The Kingdom of Cambodia

This post is a very special one for me.  In the July holidays of this year me and 16 other from my church got on a plane to Cambodia.  We had an amazing time and left with so many stories to tell.  We meet so many people who I will never forget, and who I am so thankful that I meet.

A peace of my heart is in Cambodia now and I'm looking forward to be going back one day, hopefully one day not to far away

Leave me out

When I was over seas I picked up my very first digital camera, its just a basic point and shoot, but it seems to take some descent pictures.  Its pretty easy to use which is great for a non-manual reader like me.  I've been having a play with the settings and the latest one I've got a hang of is where all colours but one get turned grey.

Lets catch the train

I know most people aren't fans of public transport, but I quite enjoy catching the bus every now and then.  I'd probably do it more often but where I live is unfortunately placed at the end of the buses route, so it can take a lot longer to get home if I do.  But I find catching the bus quite peaceful, I can read a book, listen to music, or just stare out the window and day dream.

Just walking in the sun

Yesterday I spent the morning being good, doing some study and going to training.  While I'd been at training it had turned into such a nice day and I was feeling like I was wasting it inside.  Grabbed my phone, got onto Loryn and planed an afternoon stroll.  I loving at the moment that I'm actually having motivation to study and not leave it to the last minute.

Rip me off

Where I go to tech we have a few different notice boards up around the place with messages about come flat with me, text book for sale, come watch my band or apply here for job.  One day I was walking past and a little hand written notice caught my eye.  Someone had put up a personal add asking for friends to hang out with at lunch time.  I don't no if it was really or someone playing a prank but it was still very sweet.

Just Keep swimming

I'm a stumble upon addict, as a student I'm often looking for things to distract me from doing my study and assignments.  So far I'm at 904 favourites, many of which are food based which I hope to share when I get a chance to make them (Oreo chocolate brownies, yes please).

My back yard

In my city they have been trying to get a native bird called the Tui back into the city.  In our back yard we've got a tree which the Tui's eat the blossom.  So I set out to get a few photos of them..... try to anyway, it didn't quite work but here are my attempts

I love living in a country with so much green, I feel very privileged to have grown up with this in my backyard.

Auckland Adventures

Last semester I live in the big smoke of Auckland for a month for my one month placement.  While I was there I went for a few wanders.  I really like the old buildings that they have and that most of them are well looked after.  I wish they would tidy up some of the ones in Hamilton.

This is a cat who hangs out in a cafe near where I lived

The last photo is the alleyway that the Belgium Beer Cafe is down, my friends and I spent so long trying to find this place on our first Auckland catchup, we were so happy with our selves when we found it and then again when we found our way back to our car parks

Come outside and pray!

Once a year at my church they set up a 24hour prayer stations.  They are so creative and do such an awesome job.  This year was based on seasons, seasons of our lives paired up with the season of the year.  The room was sectioned into fours with a big tree in the middle.

Thank you to the beautiful people are gateway church for setting up this wonderful experience
